Breaks my Heart

Lately I have been in a funk about somethings in my life.  I don't want to complain, but they have weighed heavy on my mind.  So I decided to make a "pretty" little book to maybe perk me up about the topics. I used BoBunny "Crush Collection" and then a bunch of stash .....

Cover: Love the 3D effect of this page.   Have had these white flowers for a long time.  Finally used them.
page 2...School--am retiring after 33 years of teaching.... I thought the rick rack die looked like a broken heart.  Each tag was cut with a fold and then I wrote how I felt.
page 3  --My home:  I love my house, but it could use some major work--new siding, new insulation, new painting inside....etc.  you get the idea.
page 4- Love the bird cages on this paper. So I used Tim's bird cage.  This tag is my daughter's car.  I wish I could buy or help her buy a newer car.  It has some dents, rust, and a missing hubcap and a few other cosmetic issues--but it runs great for her.

Two new layouts.

On Friday, I was lucky enough to go to Scrapbooking Studio and create with Cindy.  We had a great time talking and working.  Cindy brought lunch to share with Holly and me.  I was supposed to start my Valentines.  NOT....this is what I worked on.

A card

Hey friends-I found the Sketch Support from Tammy Tutterow.  Love the site.  I saw a card on there by Jill Sargenson and had to make something like it.  This is what I came up with using the Cosmo Cricket "Mitten Weather"-there are 3 chipboard snowflakes that are hard to see--They are under the tag.

Engagement Card

A good friend got engaged over Christmas--This is the card I made for her. Sorry for the glare.  I used bits and pieces of things I had.  Love how it came out.

Note pads

I created some little notebooks for some friends.  I got the idea from Michelle Wooderson.  She makes a lot of little notebooks.  Go check them out.  I used post it notepads.  I stuck them to the cardstock with red sticky tape.  The paper collection is We R Memory Keepers "Merry January"-love the colors.

Tags #2

Here is where I took off on my own. Mostly because I didn't have what Lynn had.  She had a music note one and this is what I did.
The next tag I used grunge paper, TH wood embossing plate and made a door.  LOVE how it turned out.
This one I made like a mantle.  Used grunge paper again and the brick embossing folder.
Next is my take on a reindeer tag.
This tag I used "stuff" from Mish Mash and love the tag, just not thinking it goes with all the tags I have done so far.  In the end it may fit, but for now it is in the Christmas box for next year's gift tag.

I still have many tags to make.  And I do some ideas....I was just on Christmas overload.  I will add them as I finish them.
THANK YOU LYNN for all the ideas and let me scrap copy you!

Tags Finally

Thanks to Lynn Warner for doing the tags that led me to do tags too.  2gypsie girls also has the tags, but it was Lynn's that took me to jump in. This first one I pretty much copied it because I love gingerbread men.  I loved how this turned out.
Tag #2 is another copy of Lynn's--her snowman.  I had to work for this one finding the buttons.
Again Lynn was creative with a keyhole--I just happened to have a large gungeboard one to use.  Love how it turned out.
Now here is where I start to improvise.....Not having all that Lynn had...I had to create my own and went off on my own.

Creating with Teresa Collins

I was lucky enough to be in a class that Teresa Collins taught at the Scrapbooking Studio.  I took the class for the Christmas Countdown. It was a wonderful time.  I love the pink and orange together.

Out to eat #2

I made a second page for daughter #1.  I wanted to use the same idea, but different from #1.  This is what I came up with.

Out to eat

The girls and I went out to eat and took some pictures.  It was fun to spend time with them and capture the moment.  I don't have the name of the yellow--but loved it...and the gray is American Crafts "I do" cutting out the flowers. It also has yellow thickers for the "sisters", red buttons, and some extra help from Amy at my LSS.

Calendar

On ONE LUCKY DAY the girls made a calendar.  You can go to their site and they will send you the calendar pages to print off.  I loved it, but didn't have the same stuff they used.  So I cut my own board and used LYB "Clothesline" -- blue and pink.  Inked up the edges and added some of the embellishments.  I made a pocket for  the extra calendars since using the TH knob wouldn't let me keep all the pages on the front.  Here is what I came up with and I love it.

Happy 2011

My New Year's resolution is to find 5 papers that I have not used and just had to have--use it that month to make any cards.  I have to use what I have before I buy new.  Just have to.
